These are air-to-air heat pumps, not just summer air conditioners. They cool when it’s hot, give you fast and highly efficient heating when it’s cold, and dehumidify whenever excess moisture becomes a problem.
A smarter way to heat the rooms you actually use
Your central heating is designed to heat the whole house. That’s not always what you need.
Instead, keep your home at a comfortable background temperature — say 18°C — then use your LG system to rapidly bring the rooms you’re actually using up to 21°C.
Because a heat pump moves heat rather than generating it directly, it can deliver several units of heat for every unit of electricity consumed. Depending on energy prices, outside temperature and your existing heating system, that can make heating an occupied room with your LG cheaper than turning up the gas boiler to heat the whole house.
It’s particularly effective alongside underfloor heating. UFH is wonderfully comfortable and efficient at holding a steady temperature, but its high thermal mass means it can take many hours to respond. Let the underfloor maintain a solid background temperature, and use your LG for the rapid few degrees of extra warmth when and where you want it.
And when it’s wet outside?
Switch to dehumidification.
Dry washing indoors and your clothes can release litres of water into the air — moisture that otherwise ends up as condensation on windows, damp surfaces and eventually mould.
Your LG can pull that excess moisture out of the room while you dry your washing, helping keep the house comfortable without opening the windows and throwing away all that heat.
Cooling in summer. Heating in winter. Humidity control in between. That’s why we think of these as year-round climate systems — not just air conditioning.
